Actually a decent one for character development, with the kids getting college application results and Blair’s mum giving birth. But we do NOT stan slut-shaming and lesbiphobia 😤

This book in the series follows the same characters as they find out which colleges they got accepted to and visiting those colleges as well. Blair and Serena are fighting again and Blair and Nate are back together but not for long. Jenny has decided she wants to become a model and seeks advice from Serena. Vanessa's sister is going to be traveling on tour and she asks Dan to move in. And Chuck Bass has a pet monkey that he is now taking with him everywhere he goes. And we still don't know who Gossip Girl is.

This book was better than the last couple but still not great. There are a lot more ridiculous rumors that are going around about everyone and it's really no surprise that Blair is mad at, not just Serena but also Nate. It seems that she is always fighting with someone in every book. Nate seems to be maturing as the series continues and I'm glad to see that. I still don't love, or even like, Blair and Serena's friendship. The writing makes them seem like they are more like acquaintances than best friends. I don't know about anyone else, but when I was in high school, my best friend and I were attached at the hip. But then again, this is Gossip Girl and it is nothing like real life. Dan is a very confusing character in the book. He seems to be very confused about what he wants in life, therefore leaving me confused.

I'm not sure if the Gossip Girl character is ever revealed in the book series. I've seen the TV show, so I obviously know who is revealed to be the mysterious character but I don't want to find any spoilers, so I didn't look up anything. Let's see how the next book goes.
