Lots of battles, and surprising moments. This one hit me in the feels in so many different places... right up to the end. I'm okay... I'll be fine... 😢 **as I reach for the fourth & final book** Truth and Courage... **sniffle**

The third book was the longest, and best by a wide margin, yet. I’m now thousands of pages into this series and so invested in the outcomes of all of the characters. Beyond the grasps of good and evil, Gwynne has presented us with the troubles of revisionist history by the victors. The difference between good and evil often depends on who’s writing the story.

That being said, I’ve definitely chosen my side with a handful of the characters and I’m genuinely concerned for their paths toward success and survival.

5/5, recommended to anyone

Where do I even start with this one? I feel like I just got raked over the coals. There were highs and lows. Times I really felt like things were going horribly and then others where I was screaming YES inside when the good guys were winning.

Soooooo much happened, and the ending literally had me screaming no. It's hard to even imagine where the story could go from here. I'm so invested in these characters. I want to see them succeed, but damn can Gwynne punch me in the gut on the ride. Nothing is easy with the journey.

What a fantastic read by John Gwynn. Betrayal, love and good vs evil what more could you ask for besides the next book in the series
