This was a fun and informative telling of the Targaryen history and has made me want to start reading the main series. I can’t wait for the next volumes to come out.

I recently listened to the audio of The Rise of the Dragon read by Harry Lloyd (aka. Viserys Targaryen in Game of Thrones) and I really loved it. His voice is perfect for storytelling. 

If you’ve read Fire & Blood by GRRM nothing in this book will be new to you. It is definitely a skimmed down version of events but with really beautiful full-colour illustrations. 

A wonderful addition to my shelves and a book I think any Westeros or Targaryen fan would enjoy.

this was such an interesting history guide of the targaryen’s conquering westeros, and the beginning of their rule!! i mainly bought this for the illustrations which i loved and thought they were all really cool. i’d definitely recommend for a more condensed version of “ fire and blood “.
