I absolutely loved Shannon and Declan's previous story but this one was a huge disappointment. And thats hard to do when I love a romance novel with the guys perspective. But all of the great parts of the first story (divided into 5 parts previously), were missing in this one. There was a lot of internal ramblings, which previously were broken up by comedic moments from Shannon's mother and her cat, there were a few in this one but not enough that i was left bored and ended up skimming most of the middle of the book.

Declan also seemed to have a huge personality switch. Previously very go with the flow when it came to Shannon's family, this time hes uptight and being the self proclaimed a-hole thats mentioned throughout the book.

it was all just a bit much.

Also the big plot point of the book, the proposal was so dumb. So, so dumb.

I enjoyed Declan's POV, especially with Zachary Webber/Jacob Morgan narrating. But sometimes Julia Kent's humor is too much for me and that was the case in the hospital scene. It was too over-the-top and way beyond realistic. I would probably have given the book 3.5-4 stars before that scene. And now I really don't want to read the next book - I'm not ready to listen to Shannon's mother go crazy with wedding planning. No thanks.

This is another of Julia Kent's laugh out loud Shopping for a Billionaire series. I love Declan and Shannon and with the addition of the rest of the Jacoby clan, it will have you unable to put this book
down. This book is told from Declan's point of view and it is the 6th book in the series, and should be read after the previous book as there are references to past events.

Sigh. I DNF’ed this book once and gave it another chance. The main character had the emotional depth of a teaspoon until about halfway through. The scene in the graveyard and the family brawl in his dad’s office were the best parts in the book.

Just keeps getting better and better.

I feel in love with this series from the beginning. The characters work so well together. I thoroughly enjoy every aspect of the story. The humor cracks me up. I am excited to see what the future holds. I also am anxious to read Shopping for a CEO to see Amanda and Andrew's story.

Wow. This author brings it with every instalment, and I loved the perspective change. Declan's narrative voice was brilliant. The precarious balance of serious, humour and outright craziness was refreshing, engaging and exhilarating. I can't wait to read the next one.

I'd give it a -1 star if I could. This was so crude, everyone was crude, it was so over the top for this reader. The writing was immature, some of the lines read like a 15 year old hormone dripping boys, not an educated businessman, mother, sister, Doctor... everyone was crude. Period jokes from the future MIL, talking about her husband not having the red mustache now that her periods were over- Ewww, and that wasn't the worst wait till you get all the poop talk.
This was a book in my anthology Hilariously Ever After.

Another bargain book that turned out to be a pleasant surprise, SBF is laugh-out-loud funny. I'm not a big rom-com fan, and I prefer my romances with some serious suspense/mystery or action. Told from the spoiled billionaire's point of view, the drama in this story is all about his error-prone attempts to grow-up and commit to his girlfriend -- in spite of her whacked-out family. Not that his family is much of a prize. For those who love an over the top, sentimental, HEA, we get that, too.

Sixth in interrelated series (books 1-5 are meeting and dating the girlfriend), this is easily read and enjoyed as a stand alone.

I'm not really a fan of the shifting perspective (which may explain the reason why I still haven't the A Song of Ice and Fire series) so I struggled to finish this one compared to the other books in the series. The writing is still good but it's a personal preference to have consistency in the voice in my head. I do appreciate how distinct Declan's voice is from Shannon.
