I really enjoyed this book. I was gifted an E-ARC and I could not put this book down. It's the perfect little hallmark small town Romance book.

The book follows Beth and Evan as they navigate some trauma in their own lives and find love within each other. Plus, there's puppies!!

I read this book quickly between two thick fantasy reads and it was perfect. It gave me that quick rush of accomplishment of finishing a book quickly and it was captivating at the same time. I had no issues reading in one sitting. It was well edited and I found no issues with errors.

Tropes include, Close proximity, small town, former military, widow finds romance, puppy love, and found family.

DNF - I wanted to love this book and it felt like a Hallmark movie, but like other reviews said it got really repetitive. All the characters talked in the same way, so it felt like there was no depth to any of them. I think if you changed the name of the character talking to either Beth or Evan, it wouldn’t make any difference. There was also a lot of explaining when it wasn’t really necessary. I really liked the premise and it looked promising though.
