Cruel Seduction follows the complicated power struggle that concluded in Radiant Sin. Aphrodite, formerly Eris, marries the new murderous Hephaestus in a bid to keep him on a leash in Olympus. An absolute poly-pocalypse between Aphrodite, Hephaestus and others ensues as Olympus falls into unrest.
This addition to the Dark Olympus series left so much to be desired. The chemistry that Katee Robert can make so effortless felt clunky and confusing. The timing was rushed, the relationships didn't have time to fill out and at 3/4's of the way through I could not believe it was almost time to close the book.
Eris/Aphrodite is such a complicated and interesting character and I wish we would have spent more time with her and the mess Katee Robert's promised.

This was one of the most interesting of the series so far. The politics and mechanisms at work in the background are really starting to develop and I'm curious to see who the real mastermind is.

Aside from that, I liked seeing the relationships develop between the four leads as they settled into their new roles and relationships.

Um, where is my super spicy foursome scene? Did I miss a chapter? Talk about a clit tease!

We did get some spicy action between Eris, Adonis & Theseus, but I think Pandora was underused here.

The idea of both giving up their positions of power to keep their new found-family safe is cute considering the original circumstances. I do think having 4 perspectives was unnecessary and perhaps even forced.

I struggled getting into this because GOD(s) there's so many people and so many names and so much politics, we've really come far since Neon Gods 💀 It did pick up after the 50% mark and I loved all the relationships! I wish we could've spent more time with Pandora & Aphrodite, as other reviewers have said, sometimes there was just wayyy more focus on the guys and their relationships. There's loads of drama and ensuing protectiveness, especially towards the end. The ending itself was quite abrupt but I think we can just come to expect that from this series! There've definitely been better installments but still a fun read and still loving this series.
