Thought it was going to be just another cozy mystery, but it was very edgy. I was pleasantly surprised on how much I liked this book.

A story about a trouble Private investigator dealing with a mystery in the Florida bass fishing world. A zany cast of characters. Lots of reviews say this author is hilarious. I only had a couple of chuckles. I dare say it’s very American humour. Lol.

Well, I learned more than I ever expected or wanted to learn about fishing, but it was a fun read. Entertaining, especially if you have spent significant time in Florida for some strange reason.

Enjoyable read, but some of the language and situations didn't age well. Overall a fun read. I always enjoy Carl Hiaasen.

I struggled whether to give 3 or 4 stars. This is the first Carl Hiaasen book I have read so I wasn't really prepared for the cooky characters. Even though the characters were extremely zany, many were still endearing. I found myself laughing out loud at times and cheering some of them on. I should also say that I don't fish so the bass fishing detail didn't suck me in.
I still just shake my head at the Skink character. Wow...that is all I can say!
