Wonderful story about finding the place we fit in the world and surviving so many things until we do. Loved the Alaskan setting!

As someone who's not close with their father, this book made me leak tears and sob harder more than any book has ever before.

I read this book many, many times while in middle school. Lucy's life, and the workings of the crab boat, fascinated me to no end. Definitely a defining novel of my childhood.

An awkward teen runs away from her deadbeat dad and joins a crabbing crew on the Bering Sea. It's quick, but heartfelt and sad.

I really liked the story. I don't think I've ever read a book this fast. The ending was really sad and happy at the same time. And ofcourse, I cried.
