The day that the book was finished especially shows some of the symbolism of it.

🌻 Mystery
🌻 Historical Contemplations
🌻 Theories Galore
🌻 Religious-based Examinations

I went into this not knowing it was written by a pastor and is heavily based and examined with a Christian eye. As someone that is not religious, I actually found the comparisons and theories and attempted explanations to be careful of other religions while also providing sound evidence for the topic: that the original, powerful gods, have returned.

Or at least that’s what I believed in the beginning…

By the end, I was a bit confused. It sounded like the author applied Christianity to every culture throughout time, thus disregarding all other religions and demonizing paganism. Now, I’m a firm supporter of ALL religions so listening to a book pull from every myth and religion and then linking it to Christianity was a bit like Gus Portokalos linking every word to a Greek word. Pulling at strings? Maybe.

I’m also a firm supporter of same sex marriage and I felt like this author is not a big fan of it, considering he kept linking it and pride month to the demonizing of Christian beliefs. It seriously felt like the author twisted every historical fact to fit his narrative and I wasn’t a fan of that by the end. I’m not sorry I read it though because we learn and grow from things we both enjoy and dislike!

This book is amazing in the information it gives, it really opens up your eyes and teaches you, with real sources, what is actually happening in the world, and how everything has been turned upside down.
I give this a 4.5 just because sometimes the writing style is a little repetitive, but it enhances your understanding.
If you want to know the answer for all of what is happening, read this book, I personally enjoyed it.

From page 230: β€œA house that has emptied itself of God cannot remain empty. It will be seized and taken over by that which is not God. And when a civilization expels God from its midst, it never ends well.” The author is referring to the parable Jesus spoke of in Matthew 12. This book reinforced the belief that we are in a spiritual battle far beyond what we can imagine. But we don’t have to lose hope or be frightened. We know our God is all-powerful, the God above all gods. β€œIn His Spirit is the power to overcome the spirits of the age.” (Page 236).

Cahn fits some pieces of a puzzle together here, which was interesting, but he doesn’t understand enough of the background of the Bible to be able to see where he is off track. In short, it’s an imbalanced view of the issues discussed.

Love Jonathan Chan books. Every book I read from him I learn something different and the fact that I can search and connect the information he is giving us is incredible. I listen to it but I plan to reread it so I can digest it more and add my own research. Can't wait to see what he will bring next! 10/10 recommend.
