I found this in the cozy mysteries section of my local library. The premise sounded good but the book went nowhere. No one actually dies in this mystery, which makes it more an attempted murder mystery. The heroine falls for a terrible man who she is better than which I found annoying.
There were a few times reading this I fell asleep. It was a struggle to finish it.

I was concerned that because the book was written. In the 80s it was going to be sexist and rude. However, I found it thoroughly enjoyable. The main characters weren't insufferable bores and the mystery was fun. Ellie, the main protagonist had an actual reason to be investigating the situation and Ben was actually helpful. All in all I thought it was cute.

Published in 1984, this epicurean mystery was clever, humorous and difficult to put down. I loved it!

Toll, toll, toll!
