This volume was a great read.  It was very fast-paced and kept me intrigued.  We still don't have any answers to the major questions about the plague or the last man on Earth, but the characters had some great conflicts and adventures.  I also really liked the brief detour at the end where we got to see another perspective (from a theatrical point of view.)  I enjoyed the characters and the meta look at the comic itself.  The part I did not like about this book was the characterization of the Israeli army leader.  However, I'm hopeful that that particular thread has been wound up, as there are so many other characters and mysteries I'd like to explore more.

There are three astronauts, two of whom are men, on their way to Earth from the ISS. These astronauts will be met by some previous characters, a few new characters, and our intrepid trio: Yorick, Agent 355 and Dr. Mann. Any other details seem like spoilers so I can’t say more. This volume had excellent art, yet again, and an interesting plot.

For those interested in season one of the FX series, this volume is not covered, so it may end up in season 2? But this volume includes multiple international players, and the FX series hasn’t shown any of that on the ground in the US yet so who knows how the tv series will change the story.

I loved this book- I really liked the first 2 but I feel like the action stepped up here, characters are starting to develop more and there were a few lines that made me actually laugh out loud.

I enjoyed myself a bit more than Vol 2. Didn't find Yorick as annoying; prolly due to me focusing on the secondary characters rather than him. Felt the ending was a bit weird; wished it would've ended on more of a cliffhanger like the previous installment. I'm pretty decently hooked into the story now so on to Vol 4.

HOLY RED HERRINGS AND TERFS, BATMAN.

We're up to two or three "chicks with dicks" jokes in this series. Vol 3 finally gives us our first looks at trans (or at least masc cross dressing) sex workers and it's unsurprisingly uncomfortable.

Every woman is barely restraining themselves from falling for Yorick, who CONTINUES TO BE 98% PERCENT DOOFUS with no real qualities or personality to be attracted to. AND YET.

I assume it's only going to get worse. Let's keep reading!

ETA: And then there's this piddling side story with the theatre troop, more bickering, and a generic Asian spy-type named, I'm not even fucking kidding, TOYOTA. Sure. You know what I thought this apocalypse was missing? Orientalism. Definitely. Ugh.

I'm for real going to read everything by Brian K. Vaughn.

I love his writing!

I think my favorite part in this one was after the hookup discovery, Yorick wasn't mad or jealous, just sad - like they were all miserable together, now he's miserable alone. I think we've all been there.

Uhhhmmm...Okay...This book took a sharp turn. Not sure yet if it was for the better. There is still plenty of action, but the philosophy is getting really f***ed up. Apparently, the Black Plaque in the Middle Ages occurred because women were not allowed to perform in theater, so it was nature's way to right things. Hmm...Really?? I guess, thanks for enlightening me, I can sleep much better now.
