Possibly the best Morse. Interminable twists and turns, and a deep insight into the darkness of his mind. Genius (Morse and Dexter).

Another great Morse-Lewis investigation.
This time, the unlikely duo is charged with finding a girl who vanished 2 years prior and, through ups and downs comes a murder that thickens the plot further until all pieces fall into place.
For some reasons, I find that the book has aged better than the tv series and I remember Morse as a leecherous old man in the show but that was the 80ies

I just don't know about these Morse stories. I find myself feeling disappointed that he apparently bumbles through the cases, leaping to conclusions about what happened and getting it wrong over and over. Did that happen in the TV shows of the books? I don't remember it being that way.
I have one more to try as I bought all 3 of the first books, so I'll give that a go, but still I'm disappointed with these.

Much better than the first book in the Inspector Morse Series.
Really enjoyed the twists, errors, Morse, characters, and the mystery in the book.
