“That’s what most of us want, isn’t it? To not feel so small and inconsequential in this vast world.”

This story was so captivating! It had me wonderfully intrigued throughout its entirety. This is one of those stories that you realize you really cannot trust anyone in it until the end, as every single person was deceitful at some point including the narrator (our FMC, Millie). It’s full of twists and turns, tension, witty banter, sexy spice, and crazy ghost appearances that left me with my mouth open half of the time reading it! And it ends with a surprisingly interesting realization and plot twist.

The spice was sooooo good. It wasn’t overdone, and also wasn’t lacking. You start out with awesome tension, with little witty conversations and banter that had me almost blushing… and it just got juicier from there. The MMC, Callum, is very mysterious and hard to understand at first but he opens up as the story goes on and it becomes easier to understand him. I love his little quips towards Millie throughout the story, and you can tell he tries so hard to stay away from her but ultimately can’t.

“There’s a sound from your lips I would love to hear again,”

The storyline was soo interesting! I haven’t read anything like this before. This story was pretty unique to me, it gave murder mystery ish vibes, and kept me on my toes! I can honestly say I didn’t see the exact ending throughout the story, but you can definitely tell there’s something weird going on. There is for sure easter eggs throughout that help move the story in the direction it ends in.

This one is a perfect old timey, gothic, spooky romance read that will keep you on your toes! I absolutely loved this one!
