3.5* Overall I did enjoy this and was definitely humorous in places but not sure it always hit the mark. I felt like it did drag a little in places as well and compared to other books by Haig, I'm not sure this was totally it for me.

A beautiful novel on the basis of human existence, our purpose, and what it means to feel.

More like a 3.7. I enjoyed the first half — goofy alien makes goofy observations about mankind, which was pretty hilarious. But the charm wears off a little bit once it starts becoming more serious, and well, human. Nevertheless, it was still an enjoyable read and I'd still recommend it!

Starts out really quirky and funny, but by the end literally devolves into a list of platitudes for humans to live by, as if the author forgot he was writing a novel and not a high school graduation speech. If he'd found a way to sustain the humor and play more subtly with the heartstrings, this could have been a 5-star book.

This is the second time I’ve abandoned this book. Can’t get past the first couple of chapters. Does it get better? Does it actually develop a story? A lot of people have said it’s great, but I’m not seeing it yet.
