Very cute read. Full of romantic cliches wouldn’t have it any other way. I loved all the characters in this book. Chase sister was a great character and I loved Abby Father I got a hoot out of his interactions with everyone.
I’m excited to see they Chase best friend and his Sister have their own love story. I’m completely skipping to that book.

I'm always a sucker for a fake dating plot.

This book follows the dual POVs of Abby Marrow and Chase Jones. Abby has been assigned the social feature of her school new papers but doesn't have a social life and Chase has had his last 3 girlfriends break up with him three weeks into the relationship. This is where they come together! Fake dating so Addy can get into parties and have someone to go to school functions with and so Chase can find out who's sabotaging his relationships.

Abby is constantly described as weird by Chase but I think she's also a low-key stalker and a bitch.
Chase is the quarterback of his football team but doesn't like being in the popular spotlight he's been thrusted into.

Now on to my problems with this book, or more, just with Abby as a character
Chase is fresh out of a breakup, Abby chases him down and gets in her car to FOLLOW him all the way to a yogurt shop to ask him to fake date her. Oh, and she almost hits him with her car in the process. Chase is excited because this girl shows up and chats with him in the line of the yogurt place. He likes that she makes him laugh and then BAM she wants something from him.

Abby asks if she can interview him for her article first and then throws in the faking dating at the end. He says no and that he would have to think about the interview because he already gets interviewed after every football game for the sports section.

Abby takes this to next ask him two or three more times in the next few days for an interview until he breaks down and says yes so she'll just leave him the hell alone. Then Abby thinks to herself during the interview:
"interviews clearly weren't his thing"

Don't you think maybe that's why he didn't want to do the interview in the first place.

Later when they are fake dating Abby admits that she made a fake profile to stalk Chase's ex-girlfriend Savannah so she can "accidentally run into her" IT'S NOT AN ACCIDENT YOU STALKED HER.

The last thing that bigs me about her is she immediately judged Chase thinking he was going to be full of himself and an asshole. Then like two days later thinks:
"I felt like I knew him well enough at this point"

WOMEN YOU'VE KNOWN HIM ALL OF A WEEK AND STARTED IT TALKING HE WAS GOING TO BE AN ASSHOLE.

Anyway, Abby is super full of herself at the beginning and drove me nuts. She gets a little better by the end but I still didn't like her.

Now to talk about how much I love Chase (plus some over things)
Chase is the quarterback of the football team just trying to find himself and get back into dating after it's been a few months since he broke up with his girlfriend of almost a year. He struggles because everyone is talking about him and his dating life so he feels like he doesn't get privacy or a chance to process his breakups before the whole school knows about it.

He agrees to help Abby because he just wants Savannah back (she was the most recent breakup) because he really liked her. So he helps her with her list of things she wants to do to write a good article. Which involves, going on a first date, being asked to a dance, going to a Halloween thing.
AND HE DELIVERS. He takes her on the cutest first date and goes out of his way to make the asking to the dance to where she has a keepsake!

He's perfect and I love him.

The Saboteur
I like how the whole sabotage when. I didn't figure out who it was until a couple of pages before the characters figured it out. And that wasn't because it wasn't someone who was introduced until super late. The clues are there from the very beginning I just didn't think anything of it. I love when I miss the plot twist or it takes a while for me to guess it.

Chase's Twin
I love her. That's it, she's just great.

Conclusion
I enjoyed this story, I think I would have enjoyed it more if Abby wasn't a crazy person and Chase's POV came up more than Abby's lol

“That was impossible. But as I was quickly finding out, the impossible became very possible when you spent time with Chase Jones”

I liked this book a lot. It was sweet and hit all the right spots. I liked this book for a lot of reasons. Chase and Abby has this connection that was too sweet and it just worked for them against the odds. The quarter back and the shy and quiet girl. Its unlikely, but too sweet. That being said, it made many “to all the boys I’ve loved” vibes, but it was easy to get past.

I loved the family vibes. I loved the fact that they both had dysfunctional families and that they were able to bond over it. It was really sweet that Chase made her dreams come true that her mom would never have. It was sweet to hear about their families and how they both coped with the hardships.

I don’t really have much to complain about. They weren’t always the best at communicating, but that happens. No one cheated, there was no big betrayal, nothing that really hurt. This was a very very sweet book. I look forward to reading mire by this author. It’s not a favorite, but it was very sweet. I guess that’s all I have to say.

***update, after thinking about it, I’m going to pull the rating of this book up and give it a spot on my favorites shelf like it deserves. Simple books give me pause about whether they should be a 5-star rating, but I loved this book. I have no huge complaints about it at all and the chemistry between the two characters was beyond cute. I had no complaints in my review, that’s a dead giveaway that I loved this book. So, I’ve changed my mind. I’m giving this book the credit it deserves.***
