Incredible story with heartfelt characters. This is the second book, I've read for TJR & it's just as good as the first one Emma’s story might not here been real but her the feelings and emotions she went to were real.   I learned a lot from this book, my perspective on true love and love in general has been modified for the better. I feel nuch more mature now and understand love much better. While I hope I never get to experience a tragedy like hers, I wish I get to experience at least one true love like she did. 10/10 would reccommend

This was very good. Excellent even. I LOVED Sam and I loved Emma with Sam and I really loved the ending but I didn’t love Jesse and I didn’t love Emma with Jesse.

I think it’s because Emma wasn’t really herself with Jesse and being with him allowed her to indulge in all the most selfish, and for me, unlikable parts of herself. With Sam she is was a more of an entire person and less of the person who Jesse loved. She finally came into her own.

But the whole story was so relatable and so touching. TJR is so so good at writing stories that just speak right into my soul. She gets right to the heart of the matter and everything she writes just resonates with me. He is officially an auto buy author for me and I can’t wait to read the rest of her back list.

6 of 9. I also think I may need to go back and read Daisy Jones and Evelyn Hugo because man I hated both of those books. Daisy way more than Evelyn. Maybe I should revisit them and see if my mind has been changed.

This one made my heart hurt. It wrecked me, and I already know this is a book that is going to stick with me for such a long time.

Our main character, Emma marries her high-school sweetheart, Jesse, but the day before their anniversary, he goes missing and is presumed dead. Years and years later, she has fallen in love again and is engaged to a wonderful man, Sam, when she gets a phone call one night from Jesse saying that he's still alive and is coming home.

This book is so insanely heartbreaking. I hate to call it a love triangle, even though I guess technically it is, but it is done so insanely well that I have zero complaints about that aspect. In true TJR fashion, the writing is spot on, and this is the first TJR I've read that isn't a historical fiction, but it is still just so good.

My only wish with this book is that we got a little more from both Jesse and Sam and how they've experienced and processed the whole situation. But this book is 100% about Emma, her grief, her loss, her growth, and her ability to find love again. Oof, it's just so good. I can’t stop thinking about it.

Sweet and sad love story, beautiful message about being able to love again after grieving the lost of a loved one. Really enjoyed the characters and the writing..
