Quickie review: 4.25 stars. Wow, this was a really good! Especially for a debut novel. I was worried it would be too chick-litty and not romance enough for my taste, because I never know what to expect with a cartoon cobver. But I'm so glad I took the chance. It was definitely a true romance with lots of chemistry, heat and spice. Friends to lovers can be tricky for me, but I definitely believed these two had been in love for years and were meant to be together. I loved them together. This Christmas tree farm setting was really fun too. This was a great romance, sweet, sexy and romantic. I wanted more. I can't wait to read the rest of the series.

I really wanted it to be a five star read and it had moments that got it so close but the ending was just too uneventful for me. I felt like I didn’t get closure from Evelyn with the comp - yeah they got disqualified but that was it? And I wanted more from Layla and Beckett. They started off so close and warm and slowly drifted away. But vibes throughout the book, excellent. Exactly what I was looking for.

It was a cute read. Slow in places and I felt like it was repetitive at times.
The contest Stella entered to save the farm was a great idea but it was only a very small portion of the book.
Other than that it was a typical romance with a hea.

tropes: fake dating, friends to lovers, small town romance
Lovelight Farms is the perfect holiday romance featuring a small Gilmore Girls-esque town. It follows two best friends as they pretend to be dating to save the main characters Christmas tree farm. I like how Stella was so independent and how we got to see so much of her at work, it definitely helped put me in a holiday spirit.
I did find the writing kind of hard to get into at times, not sure exactly why, but this meant that it took me a bit longer to finish this story.

This was alright. Stella is just a very hard person to root for. It was stupids she lied about having a boyfriend in the first place but the self sabotaging was frustrating.
