The world-building of this novel alone had me enamored, to begin with, but easily the best part was the characters’ development. I’m a huge sucker for characters and learning backgrounds, and in this tale, each character was crucial to the plot, which I really enjoyed. One thing I would fix is maybe kicking the book off sooner, as it takes some time for the plot to kick in, but once it’s off it’s fantastic. It also has representation on all fronts in this book, as the book really covered all types of relationships and I was so happy reading about each relationship between the crew. Reading this book made me feel like I was actually a crewmate on the Wayfarer, and I’d easily say this is a modern sci-fi classic. The ending also had some nice twists that I appreciate, and overall I really enjoyed this book. Definitely check this one out if you love sci-fi space adventures!Graphic: Self harm, Chronic illness, and Violence
Minor: Xenophobia
