The only person I felt sorry for in this whole book was Hermes. My boy got picked on so much and the way Hades always hit him for no reason at all!

Honestly, I would read a whole book based on Hermes and his POV of Hades & Persephone's story and what he is relationships with the other gods are like.

Granted I would have preferred Hades & Persephone's povs be in one book. But alas here we are. It was a nice change of pace of seeing how Hades does things and how he sees the world.

The one thing that annoyed me the most was the fact the amount of sex they had. Look I am for all make-up sex but they never communicated in a healthy way they fought and bam make-up sex straight up that is where I only felt frustrated with them.

Stars: 4/5
Smut: 2.5/5

1.5. Hrm. Not only did I not like this one, I felt like it actively took away from its companion novel, so... that's not good. Hades' motivation became a lot less interesting now that we know that he already knew Persephone was woven into his Fate as his future wife from the very beginning. That.... absolutely sucks ass and makes everything he does matter so much less. And Persephone came off as naive, fickle, and kind of childish (in a really gross way that highlighted the age difference) and it had more of a dudebro vibe with the way it hit that Persephone was a virgin and 'untouched.' Cringe. This book was cringe.

I loved this exponentially more than the Persephone perspective.
"Fucking Fates" will be one of my favourite sayings going forward.
I devoured this book.
