Taken was another strong story in Zanetti's Deep Ops series, and I was delighted reading it. There's a little nod to another of her series, which made me smile so hard!
Faye and Hunter were both strong characters, and they fit in with the other characters from the first story very well. The suspense was intense, and I was at the edge of my seat for most of Taken.

It has been five years since Faye last saw Hunter. Five long, lonely years - at least he could have looked worse. But no. He is still gorgeous and wonderful and everything she loves despite the pain. Hunter knew that Faye did not need to deal with his mess after leaving the Marines. But seeing her after five years? Definitely worse than being deployed.

Can I just say - WHY DID I WAIT SO LONG TO READ ALL THE REBECCA ZANETTI. Phew. Got that off my chest.

Loved this little novella, made me literally laugh out loud, get weirdly excited to see characters cross over from her other series (**waves like a maniac at Dage and Talen**) and ached with the mutual pining and pain that can come with loving someone. Faye is sweet and lovely and knows Hunter probably better than he knows himself. Hunter just wants Faye to be happy - and he isn’t sure that he can help her be happy. This is a great evening read that is peak Zanetti.

Love the Deep Ops team, especially Wolfe.

This is the story of Faye and Hunter. They grew up together in a foster home with Raider, who we met in book 1 as part of the team. they had a relationship that went wrong, and they’ve been separated for the past five years. However, they’re both back together to find someone. And along way, they have to decide if a second chance is worthwhile. Raider, along with Wolfe, and of course Kat tagalong for some of this to help. And we even get an Angus and Roscoe cameo. They were as oddball and as wacky as ever. And I think we may have hints of Wolfe with Dana the journalist in the future. Along as a couple of our favorite Dark Protectors making a brief appearance. So there was a lot going on in this book. And it all happened really quickly. Maybe a bit rushed. But it was sweet that Faye and Hunter got there happily ever after. This book fit in nicely in the Deep Ops world, and I can’t wait to read more about Raider now that we know a little of his backstory.

Plot-wise, this short story had all the bones of a really thrilling book. Unfortunately, the quality of the writing just wasn't there.

This novella is the first book I've read by Rebecca Zanetti and I enjoyed it a lot. As it had humour, a touch of romance and suspense. Not to mention great characters and the story moved along nicely. And I was led intrigued by a lot of the characters, particularly Wolfe, Raider and Angus. So I would definitely read more from this author in the future and I would happily recommend this story to others.

I won a copy of this book in a goodreads giveaway.

This was a very quick and interesting read. I hope to see what else Ms Zanetti does with these characters.

There's something a bit random about this novella featuring Raider's foster siblings being slotted in the series. Maybe there will be some further pay off in book two, but I enjoyed this short jaunt nevertheless. I'm also glad that we got to witness Wolfe's meet cute with his future leading lady Dana, their dialogue was delightfully random and I really hope these two aren't bleached of personality when they become the main focus. "She's not going to date you after you ruined her umbrella and kidnapped her" is such a great line.

I really love this cast of characters. I wasn't in the right headspace to finish this earlier so had to put it down.

I returned to it today and enjoyed the suspense and danger and them coming together to save Lucas.

I need more Wolfe!!
