On the Market has become an enjoyable series set in the small town of Cherry Creek. Whilst still interacting with already established couples, we now get to meet and have the HEA for other members of the community and the new people who come into town. Fitz has lived there all his life and is now the Fire Chief at the local firehouse. Half of his body may be covered in burns from a trauma in his teens but he doesn't let that hold him back. Completely opposite is Antoine who lived his life moving constantly around the world. He struggles with relationships and when he comes to town to help sort the town's tourism gets off to the worst of starts thanks to a wandering goat and Fitz who is the first responder.
They get off on the wrong foot from the start and are constantly antagonising each other, maybe Fitz more so than Antoine but it makes for a very entertaining relationship that goes hand in hand with how often Antoine finds himself in a situation that requires medical attention. You can sense the attraction between them but both are reluctant for their own reasons, neither having great history regarding romance. Elsewhere, Antoine makes friends with quite a few residents around town, all seeing how much work he's putting in to helping their town.
This is a really good slow burn romance that flows well throughout the story and comes together nicely for the MC's at the end. I look forward to more from this series and need to go back and find out more on the original series on Cherry Creek.
Nick has again done a great job of narrating an EM Lindsey story. There is one or two accents that were just a little off for me but they were small, side characters and didn't detract my enjoyment of the banter back and forth between the MC's and their determination to not give in to their attraction.

Why only 3 stars? Because I felt more invested in the background story and supporting characters than in the two MCs relationship. Which relationship was lukewarm at best. They antagonized each other for the first half of the book, even though the reasons felt weak. Afterwards they (almost) reluctantly gave in to their mutual attraction, were together twice (sexually), and fell in love. I didn’t feel it.

Moreover, I would have appreciated an epilogue or at least some explanation as to side characters’ story (Fitz nephew for example or Antoine’s brother). I think I will keep reading the series just to know what happens to side characters and to revisit Cherry Creek.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series, and generally really like E.M. Lindsey's writing, but this book just left me in consternation. I was looking forward to Fitz's book, but Antoine is just . . . like, his main character trait seems to be attracting catastrophe. The number of accidents and misfortunes that befall him is literally unbelievable. I never felt the attraction between them, because they start off at odds and annoyed with each other, and I didn't buy that that truly changed.

I'm gonna chalk this one up to experience, but I'll definitely read more from this author.

I really like this series: the writing is good, the pacing is good, the characters are great. There wasn't an epilogue, which I love... but especially since we will most likely have cameos of these two in the rest of the series, so an epilogue would really be unnecessary.

Antoine's brother, Marcel, and his partner are featured in Temptation (Breaking the Rules #2) from E.M. Lindsey.

The Motel brothers and Levi are in Kate Hawthorne's Room to Love series. Spencer, Collin and Max are Cloudy with a Chance of Love by E.M. Lindsey, Kate Hawthorne & E.M. Denning. Enzo and Tristan are in Just Say When by E.M. Lindsey. I deducted 1 star from the first book on this series because there was a lot of focus on Levi and Levi/James, and I felt like I was missing out on a lot when reading about Simon but not understanding half of the issues with his brother. I didn't find that to be the case in this series. The main focus was on Antoine and Fitz and the side characters were really just that, sode characters. Ronan and Parker were the only two that had me wondering what their story was.

And I was trying to find out if Ronan and Parker had book floating around, but they appear to be the focus of the next book in this series.
