There were some parts of this book I enjoyed and others that I struggled with- mostly the Kira/prophets arc. There was some solid action but it felt slow at times as well.

Not a lot happened for a long time - but it was interesting to read - sad to see the end of ---- oops don't want to spoil it. Felt like it was setting up events for next books in series.Look forward to the rest.

Not quite as good as some of the more recent Star Trek books I have read. The book seems to move at a slower pace for maybe 2/3 of the book. It does pick up the pace to some degree after that. The Kira storyline that takes place in the book is a bit perplexing and not sure what to really make of it.

Really great, and now I'm dying for the second book in the series. Man, do I love Star Trek novels. Fitting that this book would have me hit my goal in the Reading Challenge, considering it focuses a lot on Kira, my favorite of all Star Trek characters. <3

I wanted to like this more. I think I'm just a wee bit tired of what seems a constant and unrelenting journey into darkness that the Star Trek novels feel like to me. I don't think I cracked a single smile reading this one, and the lack of that moment of "happy" was what left me just sort of heaving a sigh when I was done the book.

While I've always understood that Star Trek is a way to look at our society through a science fiction lens, I think maybe I'm just wishing we could go back to a story or two where people explore, the conspiracies aren't so dark, and there's a laugh or two along the way.

It was OK. I enjoyed the different story lines but got frustrated with switching back and forth. However, for once I was equally engaged with all of the different threads.
