Such a beautiful, stunning edition detailing Greek Mythology, its Gods, Goddesses, Myths and Legends amongst some gorgeous art and illustrations.

One thing that totally threw me off at the end was the few pages covering Norse Mythology at the end. It almost seemed tacked on, and pointless. Norse Mythology deserves so much more than just a few pages covering the basics.

It was a great book.

I am surprised how I liked it more than [b:Mythos: The Greek Myths Retold|35074096|Mythos The Greek Myths Retold (Stephen Fry's Great Mythology, #1)|Stephen Fry|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1502518360l/35074096._SY75_.jpg|56371760], but there it is!

Some of the stories are so interesting!

Would recommend for mythology fans.

The design and artwork of this particular edition is incredible. I love the fonts, the illustrations, the beautifully designed family trees, the title pages, and the attention to detail found throughout the entire book. Highly, highly recommend. Each turn of the page is such a treat.

Literature and poetry that are based on mythology are in abundance in pretty much every era, it is only the method of approaching the myth that differentiates the well writ and the mediocre. In this book, Hamilton is basically offering a collection of Greek mythology (and little Norse mythology) in a style that is similar to bed time stories. Only in her introduction and briefly within the myth itself does she offer deep insights or some sort of analysis.
However, this book was still an enjoyable read that is written with care. I would have appreciated it if she had applied her analysis (beautifully written in the introduction) to every myth she included.
