This book started a little slow, and I was kind of bothered by all the fussiness and self-absorption of the main character - but then it was really good, lots of twists and turns - and I was hooked. Very entertaining read.

I wavered between 3-4 stars...solid debut thriller and I really liked the ending, but much too long, and Helen was so irritatingly dumb at times.

I enjoyed this book. However, at times it was a bit hard to follow, but all the loose ends tied up nicely at the end.
It was slow starting but dropped many hints that kept me intrigued. I did like the twists and turns, it was entirely predictable near the end which was nice. The characters weren’t that likeable and many times I found myself rolling my eyes at Helen’s need to be liked and general immaturity. In the end I had a lot of empathy for her. For the most part I found Selena was maybe misunderstood, but in the end you realize exactly what she is and that was probably the biggest plot twist for me.

Once it started to pick up I couldn’t put it down. I’m excited to see what the author comes up with next but for a first novel, thumbs up!
