okay I gotta say my piece. Remember reviews are for readers & not authors, so I apologize in advance for the bitch that’s about to come out. Why is this duet so popular?? Don’t get me wrong, I really loved Jewel’s writing style & I’m definitely going to pick up more of her books but this one is lame. The more I think about it the less I like it. First off, it’s a coming of age story yet none of the actual coming of age scenes are written. Instead we get a 5 year time jump & all of a sudden our FMC can think for herself & is no longer sheltered & annoying. Why did we not get to read any of that? I think the first book should’ve included her time in Thailand & college to show her growing up & making her own opinions. Instead it was glossed over & book 2 is essentially the same romance as book 1 except our FMC is all grown up & I don’t want to strangle her every page. I hate the reliance on memory loss, it just seems lazy & all it did for me was reassure that Fisher, our MMC, is in love with Reese (FMC), which was already abundantly clear in the first book. It just felt like I was rereading their story. Idk man, this duet was all over the fucking place, rec’d like crazy & I don’t get the hype at all lol I originally gave the lost fisherman 4⭐️, but after thinking about it I’m bumping it down to 3⭐️. I would still recommend this duet but it’s not something I would reread especially bc book 2 feels like a reread of book 1.

Naked Fisherman

I found it funny that we have a Christian girl meeting a man named Fisher Mann. We as Christians are called to be fishers of men. This book had so many funny lines.

Ok, I identified with Reese. The straight-laced 18 year old. Raised in church, but every older guy I ran across… I wanted them to notice me. I didn’t even date til I was a junior in high school. I can picture every one of these scenes as me. It also has caused some PTSD, but I had it on good authority I would be healed. Lol

Reece wanted so much to be the grown up. She learned every day that it takes more than just your age. Fisher just wanted her from the beginning, and we don’t get all of his reasoning til the end. I loved that he loved construction, and that he wanted to share that with her safely. That he poured himself into that career, but he was so much more than that career.

The more we got to know of Rory, the more I saw what she was hiding from her daughter. I didn’t see it playing out the way it did, but I knew that Reese was going to have issues.

Fave line “You deserve to have your breath taken away … every day.” I loved Fisher! I need the second book!

The Lost Fisherman

Words cannot express how good this book was. I had no idea where we were headed, and it believe me that is exactly how to go into this book. I loved that after all the time apart, he was still her fisherman. The twist at the beginning shocked me, but it also brought her back into his orbit. I loved that Rose knew it all, but kept Reese’s secret. I don’t know how to review this book without spoiling it. I will just say RUN TO THIS ONE! Don’t walk RUN! I promise it’s so worth it. The ANGST was off the charts just like their chemistry. I loved how she was more of an adult than the all of them most of the time, but she also kept things young and fun. I would give this one 10 stars. This duet seriously reminded me that…

1 Corinthians 13 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.

Me ha encantado ver algunos de los capítulos del primer y segundo libro narrados por Fisher, sin duda vuelvo a repetir que son mis libros favoritos!!
