Takes me forever to finish these books, but they are SO fun to get lost in. This second installment in the series I think was even better than the first in some ways, particularly in how Sanderson writes Shallan. There are still aspects of how he writes female characters that I don’t totally love, but it doesn’t feel misogynistic or anything. There are some interesting colonization metaphors happening in this book, and I’m so curious to see where that leads. Some of my favorite moments were some badass battle scenes, and Sanderson gives us such satisfying denouements. If you’re a fan of huge high fantasy books with significant world building, you should really take the time to read this series!
