Lungfish is a book of quiet beauty. Tuck’s relationship with her daughter is so wholesome. The struggles discussed in this book are emotional and heavy but presented in such a straight-forward and honest way. The writing is incredibly well done. The transitions and backstory could use a little tightening which is why I rated 4.5 but overall a fantastic and lyrical read that I highly recommend.

My brain is still trying to connect the dots in this subtle, yet beautifully written story. Tuck finds herself on a secluded island raising her daughter and dealing with her husband's addiction. I loved the descriptions of the island and the way Tuck uses the natural world around her to survive.

The melancholy of this book feels heavy at times, but there is also hope mixed in with Tuck's struggles.

Really loved this book. I'd liken it to books like Hatchet and The Island. It is a story of survival. I had to keep reading to make sure the main character made it out of the tough spot she was in.
