Lots of infidelity, drug use, ambition, old-family bloodlines, misspent wealth and uniquely American traditions. Also lots of New York and Nashville. McInerney writes great settings and characters, good for what ails me now.

So , this is the 5th book I have reread so far this year and what I'm finding is that books that I loved 3-5 years ago I have begun to roll my eyes at a bit more .

I found myself skim reading a lot of these , rolling my eyes or just outright not caring.

Maybe I'm just finally over pretentious male authors , if thats the case my bookcase is probably going to be a bit emptier soon .
