Flox es la mejor de todas las brujas de este mundo, siempre me pareció mi favorita, mejor antes que las gemelas. Se merecía un libro entero y las cosas buenas que le puedan pasar.

My parents bought me this book the Christmas when I was twelve, it was the first book of this series I read so I actually didn't read them in order but after this book, I read the other ones, which weren't that easy to find in my country.
It opened the world to me to a new world of magic and fantasy and nature and friendship and since then I can notice how much I've changed, how much it's affected the things I like, the things I do. These series are always in my mind, even when it's not conscious I just want to live my life as closest to this stories as possibles.
I love the concept of magic they have here, how calming it is, I love the drawings in the middle of the books. I love that every name is a flower, it makes me learn about flowers and all kinds of art. This is the kind of story you can read as an adult or read to your children or read as a child and fall in love with it either way.
This book was very light hearted, I loved every chapter, I flipping love Flox, she's my favorite character of the whole series.
I read these books over and over again whenever I'm feeling happy or sad or anxious, they always help my mood and make me feel at home.

2024 Re-read

Flox, along with Shirley, is one of my favorites. I resonate with her clumsy and artsy nature, but what I love the most about her (and also relate to) is her passion for colors. I love her eccentric taste in clothes, her unique perception of the world and its hues, and her fascination with everything and everyone in her daily life.

This book's charm lies in its more goofy aspects and the seasonal fever, which makes the story entertaining. It's a slow, low-stakes narrative, which I believe was intentional. These side-series all share this quality,  but this one in particular felt like a soft cozy book about the magic of the mundane. This slow-paced lifestyle encapsulates what Fairy Oak is all about, and I love this series for that. They depict a rural, tranquil life that sounds lovely.

Regarding the seasonal aspect, I applaud the author's skill in weaving references to the season in which the plot unfolds. These nuanced details make the books even cozier and perfect to read during their respective seasons. As a mood and seasonal reader, I heartily appreciate this delightful aspect.

Unfortunately, I found the intrigue and logic of this story somewhat lacking. While it was acceptable, the Martagon situation felt disorganized and the central mystery characteristic of these side-novels seemed more like a subplot. Additionally, while I appreciated the concept of the seasonal fever, I wish it had been mentioned earlier in the main trilogy to prevent it from seeming fabricated on the spot for comedic effect. On a positive note, some of the villagers provided humor, and I was curious about Flox's theory. However, it proved to be a bit disappointing. Well, you can't have it all.
