When BH says it's a ghost story, believe that it's a ghost's story. While Evan is presented as the other lead, the house's ghost is the one who changes and evolves.

BH is a really quick read. It feels as if it could stand to be drawn out a little more, but at the same time, the story belongs to your ghost, Cora, and her tale isn't long.

This is an engaging, spare, sexy story about a 17-year-old boy who moves into a haunted house, and is visited in his "dreams" by the teenage girl who used to inhabit the home. She believes that he is her long lost lover. I haven't gotten to the end yet, but the book is leaving me breathless. Perfect book for reluctant readers of both sexes.

It is a little... one minded in what happens. Also not enough of the horror i hoped for. I wanted a horror mixed with romance (which is what I thought the book was going to be because of the summary...) It said a "ghost story", and ya, there WAS a ghost but it was not the frightening kind of ghost, it was a ghost that basically controled your dreams with memorys of the past.

In the end both girls leave, Evan's girlfriend Carrie, and the ghost girl huanting the house and evan's dreams. No big suprice there...

This book was not at all what I was expecting. I was utterly confused when the ghost would talk and I am just so confused. I did not like this book at all. I have no idea how to say how bored I was through this book and how annoying it was. I felt like I was reading two people do a role play instead of reading a novel. I was expecting so much from this book, mostly because I love ghost stories, but this was just horrible. After reading many reviews, I was also excited to start because most people rated it 5 or 4 stars so I thought it was going to be great, boy was I wrong. I can't even begin to explain how much this book annoyed me.

- Evan
Evan is a very annoying character, I thought he was so stupid and I was just glad the book was over. I could not take anymore, I just did not like it all. I wish I could say something, anything good about this book but there is absolutely nothing. And he treated his little sister horrible, I did not like Evan's character.

- Libby
I think the only good thing about this book. She is adorable, but I just didn't see where this book was going through the ending.

Overall, this book ended very weirdly. Many things were left unsaid and didn't make any sense at all. Thank god this was a standalone and a short read because I could not take anymore. I was so glad it ended when it did. As you can see, I thought this book was horrendous.

When Evan's newly divorced mother quits her job to become a full-time author and buys a creaky old Victorian mansion, he is not thrilled. He soon begins having erotic dreams about a lovely blond girl and catching glimpses of...something, always just at the edge of his vision.

Intertwined with Evan's narrative are the thoughts of Cora, the ghost of a girl who died in the house nearly 100 years ago. Her poems are wispy and seem to float through the house, just as she does.

The ending is a bit abrupt, but if you enjoy a well-told ghost story with a hint of romance, check this one out.

A ghost story is not really that scary if the protagonists aren't really aware they're being haunted.
