the entire time I couldn't help but feel like this author is a huge NLOG and it seeps deeply into her writing and all of her characters. could put the annoying character monologues aside if the plot was better executed.. interesting concept, but not well realized. author was too focused on disparaging any part of pop culture she possibly can to seem edgy and funny.

Listening to it, the story felt repetitive and very much just society bashing. The only reason I've given 3 stars is that the ending was interesting, but overall, I wouldn't recommend it

The ending left me angry. I felt like there was some great injustice and i don’t know whether that means the ending was good or bad in a literature sense but i think it had a certain irony to it as well.
Revenge driven girl works her entire life to make father pay for abandoning her mother by killing off whole family  only for the final blow being committed by an unknown half brother who blackmails her into letting him keep the inheritance all while claiming they’ve both won.
What a certainly sad and realistic ending to a bizarre story.

Grace said things  sometimes that made me make a face and i think that’s precisely why i liked her character. Her thoughts about men, women, her self awareness about her certain biases, obsessions but then the  lack of awareness about other parts of herself felt so realistic in a real person way. I really did feel like i was hearing the recount of a story from a real woman. She was  unlikeable at times. To be honest, nearly all the characters were. But with her and
her brother
i could always see a greater reasoning behind their actions that made some sort of sense.

I feel a sort of frustration or unfinished feeling towards this book but i don’t actually dislike this book. It was entertaining on a surface level and touched on ideas about women’s place in society that were surprisingly interesting amid the tiny bits of self aware internalised misogyny. It all just feels a little ironic, a little funny, a little dark. Fun book.

Good beach read :)

I loved reading this in the first person where the narrator is an absolute psycho!

I really like the writing style (though upon reading other reviews it appears to be divisive). The main character is supposed to be hateable and not relatable so if you’re into that this book is a great example of it

Despite the “funny” tag I’d say the book has some amusing moments rather than it actually being funny

The plot in the first half of the book is much stronger than the second half IMO, but I still liked the rest of the book and enjoyed the ending.

The murders are well-described but not gory or disgustingly graphic detail, which I liked because it made an otherwise heavy book feel more light

Normally I feel like books focus too much on romantic side-plots but this one failed in this aspect. Spoiler:
I feel like Jimmys storyline was never actually wrapped up properly. It was hreat up until he realises she didn’t push his fiancée off the balcony then he’s never mentioned again other than everything goes back to normal!? Could’ve done with some kind of closure scene of those two!

Probably wouldn’t re-read but I did enjoy reading it overall

when I realised this was the same premise as Kind Hearts and Coronets (or A Gentleman's Guide to Love and Murder, if you're more theatre than movie) I thought I knew how the book would end. Turns out, I did not. Honeslty, I'm a little annoyed at the ending, but I get why it ended that way.
