I thought I would ball my eyes out reading this book but surprisingly, I didn’t shed a single tear.
Maybe it’s because I read so many Cassandra Clare books that a lot of the plot seemed a bit predictable to me. I just felt nothing reading this book. Or maybe it’s because it’s been so long since I read the first book that I’m no longer as connected to the characters.
What frustrated me so much was the number of times things could have been resolved/prevented if there was proper communication. It just made things infuriating for me.
I did like the characters and plot. My favorite thing about the book was the witty dialogue. I love how Cassandra Clare gives each of the characters so much personality and wit.
This book just didn’t make me feel as much as her other books. Maybe if I read it some other time my opinion will change.
