Forney uses the comic format brilliantly to represent the moods and emotions she feels in the manic and depressive episodes she experiences as she navigates her bipolar diagnosis and treatment. The Michelangelo mention it the title is really a representation of one of the central questions Forney wrestles with in the book about the relationship between creativity and mental health. A funny, honest and emotional book, with visuals that are often worth a thousand words.Â
Graphic: Mental illness and Chronic illness
