This is probably my least favorite of the series so far. Which I was expecting, but it is still a good book.

As expected I still didn't like Landon all that much. He's still not my favorite character in the world. But I did like him and Mia together.

I love that he was willing to see things from her perspective and to try learning empathy for her. And I love that he helped her find her voice after the traumatic experience from her childhood. And I loved how much stronger Mia became and how she came more into herself with him.

I'm excited to get into God of Fury next and to finally get Brandon and Nikolai's story after all the teasers of them featured in the previous books.

I started reading this book because I wanted something light and somewhat entertaining that I could read during exam season, something I could read and immediately forget about - and it was exactly that.
I was a bit skeptical about the whole ‘psychopath’ part and how the author will turn him into a lovable character without stopping to be logical (I’m over clinical psychopaths who suddenly have feelings and are totally "normal" after finding ‘that girl’ - that’s not how psychopaths work folks)
That was quite nicely done.
However, it did remind me of the Wattpad books I used to read at 14 with passages of descriptions (I started skipping them quite soon into the books).
Her character development did disappoint me too: from being all tough and badass to turning to sweet and lovely far too soon.
And the virgin plot line is really starting to bore me …

All in all, I got what I wanted out of the book and was quite amused by some of the banter.

Mia becomes the object of Landon's obsession, his muse.

My least favourite of the series.

Tropes: dark, psychopath, enemies to lovers, boy obsessed

Landon and Mia! These two were a hot mess, but I loved this one more than the previous book, especially the pacing. In this book, we go back a few times, and instead of it being glossed over or done differently in this one, we actually see the scene play-by-play through Landon/Mia's POVs. I really loved the vet scene. Mia's also one of my favorites, and I cannot get enough of her story. She had a rough life before this book, and I'm curious to see if we ever get a book for her twin. The next book is about Bran and Nikolai, and I cannot wait. I don't get how these two will even get together, but we have been circling this mystery the whole series, and I cannot wait to finally learn more about these two. I always thought Bran and Landon were complete opposites, but we saw that might not be entirely true in this one. Anyway, even though I liked the pacing more in this book than the previous one, and the timeline was easier to follow, I copied the last book a bit. We even have a separate house that Mia and Landon disappear to. But I did like seeing them fixing it up and seeing a domestic side of Lan.

Wow okay my fave so far!!! Omg this book was so fun to read. Lan and Mia are my favorites in this series so far. They're so different from other characters I feel and I really like that the povs are way more balanced. Tho I thought it was a bit rushed the mystery towards the end or at least hinted was really interesting. Maya is complicated but I don't hate her at all shockingly. Nikolai damn he's kinda more unhinged then usual I can't wait to see what was up. I love Lan and Mia with Bran's dynamic. This felt the most balanced of the relationships which is super funny to say but I think bc they were willing to try for each other and actually strengthened each other in different ways it made me happy. I can't wait for the next book but I'm so glad I read this one.

Aug 31st - dnf @ 65%

Dec 13th - Resumed

The only reason I decided to finish this book was bcoz I didn't want to carry it over to the new year.

Anyways this book was such a snoozefest. Honestly the main reason for me to dnf it was because I couldn't take that man and his dick obsession. It was like if he didn't mention his dick atleast once in every chapter, his story wouldn't have been complete. 🙄
Also the way he was said to be a psychopath, I mean the author, he himself n the character called him that but the characterstics of a psychopath was none existent. And the way RK tried to portray him as Walmart ver of Connor Cobalt wanted to make me jump of a hill.

I got nothing against Mia. She was OK. I just didn't expect her to be opposite to what I thought she was. Also the way she went after Landon for revenge but after that one scene, the revenge was literally forgotten and the way the book was called enemies to lovers trope was also misleading.

That twist in the last chapter was so ridiculous n half assed. Also RK's hate for her female characters needs to be study. Like she literally ruined two sisters relationship as a plot device just to make the male lead come out as a hero n only person helping Mia was weird.

I hate how everyone treated Maya. Like she was just a child when all that happened n it was traumatising for her too. Also she was getting manipulated by a sick person. She didn't deserve to be treated so badly.

Honestly if this is the the definition of favouritism for RK, I wish she never has any favourite characters just so she couldn't ruin them like she did Landon n give them a decent story.

Only good thing abt this book for me was NikoBran. The way their crumbs ate.

Now that NikoBran's book is out n I finished this after reading their book n seeing Landon's personality transplant, I have to say GOR  should have been released after GOF. 🤷🏽‍♀️

why does RK write the same characters for every book. it’s like every time i get my hopes up from crumbs in a previous book when i get to their book they’re just a carbon copy of most of her other MCs. i wasn’t delusional or anything but i did get a little excited for this one thinking the characters/plot would be more interesting but (surprising to no one, i’m sure) that was not the case. it was boring and the prose was just weird (almost like purple prose but like a tween wattpad author’s attempt at it) i hope after the final instalment of this series rina takes a step back for a while to work on her crap before pumping out lacklustre clones of her previous work. i’m being overly harsh bc i’ve read a lot worse before but i genuinely do think she has potential and i’ve even really enjoyed some of her work, so it’s just frustrating.

4.75!

I totally love this the reason for the not five stars is mainly because there wasn’t enough spice for me, but the plot, the tension, the banter gave me all I wanted.

I love being in Landon’s world, and although it wasn’t as as I had been expecting, it still felt like a mastermind. I’m hoping Eli’s well give me that evil mastermind type of vibe. But Landon still gave great vibes.

I also love seeing hints of the other stories from previous in the current story that you’re reading to give you a good timeline of what’s happening.

But this is going to be in my ranking of the series, so far second place out of all of them. God of malice is still my favorite. But hopefully that’s gonna change when I read God of fury.

Well, I reread the story. Yes I would and I very happy that I have a special edition of this book coming out. Yes I am. I recommend this to other people yes…. as second choice though. LOL 😂
