Who gave Julie Kagawa the audacity, the gall and all of the gumption to make me feel things that I’ve got no business feeling?! I finished it in a day. 10/10!

What a ride.

Congratulations, you made me cry. Honestly impressive considering that is not an easy task to achieve. I could keep going so much more with this series.

im so sad wtf they were always meant to be together, tatsumi is THE standard
edit (4/12/23) because i wanna add in some of my favourite quotes !
"I'll be your strength," I told her softly. "Let me be your weapon, the blade that cuts through your enemies. I can do that much, at least."
Stay with me, Yumeko. Don’t die on me now. If you’re gone, how will I find a reason to fight for anything?
“She’s my light. If she disappears, the darkness will swallow me again.”
"My life is yours,” he said simply, his voice barely above a murmur. One palm framed the side of my face, long fingers and calloused skin pressing against my cheek. “You gave me purpose again, Yumeko. On my honor, I’ll make sure you have a home to go back to.” i died
“I’m sorry,” he murmured again, his voice sounding broken. One hand rose and cupped the back of my head, his fingers burrowing in my hair. “I wanted to give you a home to go back to.”
“I love you,” I whispered, our faces just a breath apart. His gaze went very soft. “I have...never loved anything as I have you,” he breathed. “Thank you, Yumeko.”
“I’ll find you,” he murmured. “I promise, Yumeko. No matter how long it takes, how far I have to travel, even if it takes me several lifetimes, I’ll keep looking. My appearance might change, my name might be different, but you are the other half of my soul. It won’t stop searching until it’s found you again.”
Across the river, bathed in light, the samurai smiled. “I’ve finally found you.”

Hands down believe this is Julie's strongest and best series. I loved it so much that I'm ordering physical copies.
