I will read the next book, but
Spoiler I really wish the author hadn't killed everybody (esp. Eliya). I don't think it was neccessary.

I'm not going to lie, at the start, I wasn't feeling it. I felt like too many descriptions of places and people were thrown at me. It felt like the author really wanted us to see which world she created, as soon as possible. So it was a bit overwhelming. But then the story began..!
Pretty soon I was in it! I was living the story and I was living among the characters (Eliya was my favourite, sorry Reyna).

So the story is about Reyna, the daughter of the most powerful mage in Nolderan, and she's training to become a mage herself. She faces many obstacles in school but also in her private life especially considering who her father is. I mean, the pressure is on!

Like most teenage girls she falls in love with the wrong boy, in this case, the son of a necromancer. The trouble really begins when his father returns and vows to take revenge on those who wronged him, which happens to be Reyna's father.

Loss upon loss follows and Reyna vows to become the most powerful mage to ever exist, in hopes of keeping her loved ones safe.

Will she succeed? I'm not going to tell, you'll just have to read for yourself.

I really wanted to read something fast-paced and this book delivered!
I had never read a book including necromancy before, but I really liked it. While it was a bit more gruesome than normal magic tends to be, the scenes I imagined fell nothing short of spectacular!
Due to the books fast pace (especially compared to my previous read) I, at times, couldn't quite grasp which direction the story was going. I also felt like some of the side characters didn't have that much depth to them.
But even though it took me a while to start liking Eliya, her humor really did charm me.
I really enjoyed reading about the development of the main character (didn't like her that much at the very start) and her relationship with her father and her relationship with her love interest.
After the climax at the end, I expected the story to pretty much end, but instead it went into a whole new and exciting direction.
I'm looking forward to reading the sequel when it comes out!

The main character is SO immature and annoying and there is literally NO character development

I really didn´t like how spoiled this MC acted/was.
The whole book she kept on repeating basicly the same thing ´i have to be better then anyone because i will let daddy down if i don´t´ i just didn´t feel the connection.

So well done! For an independent writer this book was phenomenal and I enjoyed every minute of it! I think she did a great job building a world, lovable characters and hatable ones too! There’s magic, heartbreak, and a journey of grief in this book that leads into the next. I flew threw it every chance I could get! I already have the second one on my shelf ready to pick up!
