I thought this book was awful. It's sheep talking and figuring out a murder. That I can actually wrap my head around. But I was 1/4 of the way into the book and nothing had happened! It was so boring! I didn't finish so I can't say much about the story bit the fact that I didn't want to finish a book says a whole lot..

When a shepherd is found dead, his flock takes it upon themselves to find out what happened and who the murderer is. It’s such a simple, funny, premise that turns into a delightful book. We get to see life through the eyes of the sheep and learn how differently they experience the world. While some things that are obvious to us aren’t for the sheep, the same can be said for experiences the sheep have that we just don’t have.

I truly enjoyed this book but don’t want to delve into the details, so I don’t spoil any revelations. If you like a cozy mystery, seeing the world from different perspectives and unusual humor I would recommend you give this book a try!

If counting sheep makes you sleepy how about a book about sheep? The answer is yes! It took me the full 3 weeks from the library to read this, a prelude to many naps. These no ordinary sheep they are solving the mystery of their dead shepherd. We had sheep growing up and I really like their personalities, although ours were never so clever. So if you are sentimental about sheep you will enjoy this novel.

This seemed like such a fun premise but it fell flat for me in execution. It was funny to see how the sheep were so smart but also due to being sheep, did not understand some human actions or words.
The mystery was muddled for me. We don't learn too much about the humans and I found it to be a confusing mess in that respect so it really dragged down the book for me.

Audio book. I found this delightful. I guess it's sort of a "gentle"/"cozy" read, which would normally make me sigh dramatically throughout, and the idea of sheep as main characters made me wince a bit; but it was actually really cute and sweet, with plenty of background, mystery and interesting characters. Probably would've been a quick read as a book.

She shook her head. "This isn't something sheep can understand," she said.
"No," said Fosco. "No, it really isn't anything sheep can understand.“

It took me longer to get into this book than it should have. I was overly concerned with trying to solve the mystery when I really needed to just go with the flow. Now that I know the end, I wouldn’t mind rereading this one day.

Despite all that, I managed to settle into the story eventually, and I really enjoyed it.
