Really impressive detail in such a condensed manner. It felt like a very good history documentary from BBC Four.
I thought I'd give this a read as my american history is very vague at the most part, and I found the 1066 really intriguing so I decided to check this out.
Safe to say I'm very pleased I did. I felt this was a very good cover of all the aspects of the war (Politics, Weapons, Battles, Important people and the aftermath) in a succint but interesting way. This felt like it had more meat to it than the 1066 one which no feels hollower in comparison. A great read for anyone new to the Civil War or someone who wants to refresh their memory on some of the important aspects.

A bit oddly arranged. Almost lost me with the opening chapter being essentially a list of battles. I did learn a fun fact or two. It certainly didn't spoil the series and I look forward to more histories in hours.

Not as engaging as some of the other books in the series. I haven't encountered the Civil War before so I was looking for an entertaining introduction. I didn't find one! I'll have to go back to reliable Horrible Histories.
