Maya Angelou's work is such a gift. The poem phenomenal woman brought a smile to my face. Her joy and exuberance is contagious. Each poem had a different feeling to it, and I enjoyed the perspective each one gave.

Maya Angelou never cease to amaze me with her writing. She a legend. There are only 4 poems in the book that aim to celebrate women. These are my favorite lines from each poems.

.
I say,
Its the fire in my eyes,
And The flash of my teeth,
The swing in my waist,
And the joy in my feet.
I'm a woman
Phenomenally.
Phenomenal Women,
Thats me.
.
.
You may write me down in history,
With your bitter, twisted lies,
You may trod me in the very dirt,
But still, like dust, i'll rise.
.
.
My job at the plant
aint the biggest bet,
but i pay my bills,
and stay out of debt.
I get my hair done
For my own self's sake,
so i dont have to pick
and i dont have to rake.
.
.
When you learn, teach.
When you get, give.

They move into condos

ridin' around town
actin' bored.

Centered on the world's stage,
she sings to her loves and beloveds,
to her foes and detractors:
However I am perceived and deceived,
however my ignorance and conceits,
lay aside your fears that I will be undone,
for I shall not be moved.
