Disclaimer: Spoilers ahead

I’ve been a big fan of Sarah J. Maas ever since I picked up Throne of Glass back in November of 2015. It quickly became one of my favorite series and I’m trying to hold myself back from reading the very last book because I don’t want the saga to end. When I first heard that Maas was bringing out a new series I was all for it, I will honestly read any book that she throws at me.

I am going to quickly do a small overview of my ratings for the past two books:
A Court of Thorns and Roses: I loved it 5/5 stars, it hooked me in and I loved the romance.
A Court of Mist and Fury: I loved it 5/5, key points Feyre and Rhysand are my love. Rhys especially, oof. Absolutely amazing, nothing really bad to say.

Now that the quick review is done of the past two books let’s begin on this book. So first of all, I went into this book with very high expectations. I read the other two books and fell in love with each and every character. Some characters I used to hate are characters that I now love, and some that I used to love, are now some that I’m eh about. Let’s first talk about character overviews.

Characters:
Feyre – Love her, but through the book I was just kind of bored with her. I would have loved to see other points of view just for a second like Rhys, Cassian, Nesta, Elain, and Lucien. I did like seeing how much she has really become someone through the books. In the beginning of the series, she wasn’t much and it really is awesome to watch her become a badass heroine.

Rhys – I absolutely adore him, he is by far one of my favorite characters in all of the Sarah J. Maas books that I have read. He is just everything, he’s tough and ruthless but has such a sweet spot for his friends and of course Feyre.

Nesta – In the last book, I didn’t love her. I thought she was annoying and I was pissed off with some of the things that she has done. In this book however, I wanted more, she easily became someone that I can’t wait to read more about in the 4th book. One of my favorites and her and Cassian are goals.

Cassian – My baby. He is so sweet, and he cares so much about everyone. I love him and Nesta and once again, can’t wait to read more about him and Nesta in the 4th book.

‘“Cassian grunted in pain, but lifted his bloodied hands–to cup her face. “I have no regrets in my life but this.” His voice shook with every word. “That we did not have time. That I did not have time with you, Nesta.”
She didn’t stop him as he leaned up and kissed her–lightly. As much as he could manage.
Cassian said softly, brushing away the tear that streaked down her face, “I will find you again in the next world–the next life. And we will have that time. I promise.”’
-(pg 652)-

Lucien – I want more about him, we didn’t see much of his character but I think that if there was maybe a spin-off and it was about him, I would fall in love.

Elain – I really want to see her and Lucien figure something out. I also loved her towards the end, when she saved Nesta and Cassian. It was amazing to read and I loved every minute of that scene.

‘“Elain stepped out of a shadow behind him, and rammed Truth Teller to the hilt through the back of the king’s neck as she snarled in his ear, “Don’t touch my sister.”’
-(pg 653)-

There are a lot more characters that I would love to talk about but I don’t want to bore you with all the details, so I just kept it with the ones that truly stood out to me. I want to also talk about the plot a little more now.

Plot:
First off, Sarah J. Maas knows how to write a love story. All the scenes between potential love interests were “chef’s kiss.” The only thing I am going to say about the love interests is that I got a little bored with Feyre and Rhysand, I feel like there wasn’t as many scenes where I really was like, “Omg butterflies

I am yet to rate any of the books in this series less than 5 stars. I genuinely get so absorbed into the story that I sometimes forget I’m even reading. I loved every single second of reading this and truly never wanted it to end. Thank god there’s more books to go.
I would give it the detailed review it deserves but I couldn’t possibly put it into words.

Another addicting installment. I foolishly chose sleep over the last 100 pages and immediately regretted the decision the next morning. This series is so fun to read, it helps me overlook all its flaws.
