I love these companions to the itv series Victoria. This is the companion to the second series and focuses on Victoria and Albert and how they created the England we know. I loved seeing more about their relationship, which has to be iconic!

I am into the Victoria series right now (finished it in two nights on Amazon Prime) and I just have to dig into the history and the magnificient stories of how they created the whole show. Such a wonderful treat for a history buff like me.

I've never watched the show, but this serves as a valuable source for anyone interested in the Victorian period, particularly the early years of Victoria and Albert's marriage. Along with details of shooting the series and the exact nature of their relationship, it gives a broad overview of the social and political world they lived in and interesting side histories that fed into their story.

And now I want to watch the show.

I picked this up on a whim, not aware of a PBS series it companions. There was a lot about the show Including pictures, but I enjoyed reading about Victoria and Albert‘s history as well as general history during the Victorian era.

Beautiful companion for fans of the TV series. Lavish photography throughout. The historical bits are interspersed with info about the creation of the show. Pretty much a coffee table book, but nicely done.

What a fun book to read. I have never watched either seasons, though I am excited to see season 1, which is currently out. It was neat to learn about how they put the show together. Season 2 is due out in a couple of weeks, which I also plan to watch. It was great throughout the book as there were some amazing cultural and historical facts I never knew. It was also a great book to read during the month of December, as it was easy to pick up and put down again, not having a consistent story from one page to the next. It was more a collection of tidbits of stories. I really enjoyed it and would recommend it to anyone who wants to learn more about Victoria, the Victorian era (or for those like me, who want to hear more about Victoria & Albert)!

Though I love the PBS series, I didn’t know when I got this audiobook from the library that it was the companion book to season 2 of the series. I was hoping it to be more biographical about Victoria and Albert. While there was some more information about the pair that I didn’t know prior to reading, I didn’t particularly care how they made the food for the set or how they made and stored the costumes.
