If I could, I would try and make sure that this was in every classroom, from Nursery all the way to Year 6. The back of the books states that this is a book about overcoming a fearful neighbour but it's way, way more than that. The little boy (who does not seem to have a father) and whose mother is always absent, decides to run away only to find the one place he could go is the one place his mother continually threatens to take him to when he is naughty: Mrs. Cole.
Without giving more away, this book breaks down many social and cultural barriers. It's wonderful.
