I'm suing storygraph for emotional damage for suggesting this to me. But also 100% going to find a way to read volume 2.
Graphic: Animal death, Body horror, Child death, Death, Gore, Violence, Blood, and Injury/Injury detail
Moderate: Excrement and Kidnapping

It's intriguing, and different from other manga I've read. So, this orb that can imitate the forms of things it touches and regenerate. Eventually, it takes the form of a wolf right before the wolf dies. The first chapter follows the wolf-orb as it reunites with the wolf's caretaker and the two go on a journey to meet up with the rest of the boy's tribe. The boy is injured and head back home to recover. Only he doesn't. The orb then is able to take the boy's form.
The manga then switches gears to introduce what I assume are the other major characters, March and Parona. They live in a village and I believe they're sisters. The village must sacrifice a young girl each year, and March, who is eager to grow up, is chosen. On the way, they meet with the orb/boy/wolf, who March befriends by feeding. The orb then defeats the monster March was to be sacrificed to.
I feel like this is more focused on thematic exploration of the meaning of life than on the plot, which is fine, but I tend to read stories that are more characters-plot-theme than theme-characters-plot, so I'm not sure what to make of it compared to similar stories because I don't have a frame of reference. The art is nice. I don't know what to say.
