Captivating reflections and stories from the author. The memoir takes us to interesting places, shares some great reflections on conservation, and is a fun ride. Recommended.

Charming stories about traveling the world to find rare plant specimens. The liberal use of scientific names for plants and the paucity of illustrations detract from the book's success.

the author has a way with words and storytelling that is incredibly engaging! even when i was confused, i wanted to keep reading and learning. could've used more pictures and illustrations alongside some of the plant descriptions, but otherwise a very detailed and beautiful account of science.

Undoubtedly important and decidedly fascinating, this is a love letter to Mother Earth and her surviving wonders, though Magdalena's childlike enthusiasm for all things green can make this read seem more like a project for the average reader.
