This book, for obvious reasons, is an increasingly difficult read. When Vanessa Springora starts to realise the abuse G (Iâm not putting down his full name, he doesnât deserve it) puts her through, it is heart-wrenching and rage-inducing all at once đŤÂ
I cannot believe G still gets applauded for his work.
Albeit it being a hard read though, I still want to give it 4 stars. It was incredible reading Vanessaâs writing. When she wrote that she wouldâve wanted someone else to write it for her, but that she wouldnât want to know how others suffered through her trauma, I got teary đĽş
4/5 stars for me, thank you â¨

⢠I was mesmerized by the writing from the first page and I quickly fell in love with the authorâs words.
⢠This is such an important book that explores the topic of âdaddy issuesâ and the children affected by it. The children that end up feeling unloved and have no parental figure to guide them in their lives and how that desperation for attention leads to bad situations and bad people.
⢠I already knew going into this that it would be a heartbreaking read but some things were just absolutely revolting. It made it even more difficult to read about knowing that this was a real thing. The horrific people mentioned in this book were real.
⢠I saw some criticism on the writing of this book and people that claimed that it was too âfloweryâ but I absolutely loved it. It possibly has to do with the fact that I myself write in a âfloweryâ style but I love purple prose and Iâm a sucker for a good metaphor and & unique imagery so it wasnât a problem for me at all.
⢠Iâd highly recommend this to anyone that loved My Dark Vanessa or is looking for a book with beautiful writing and a lot of lessons to learn.
