I laughed, I cried and I seethed with anger. WHAT A BOOK! The romance is grounded in the kind of day-to-day love that is uncharacteristicly authentic for this genre. The main characters are going through it in two different but traumatic ways but it’s handled so well! The empathy and forgiveness is palpable and the maturity of the main relationship and secondary relationships are brilliant! The main characters act their age and are true to their backstories. The twists and turns and seriousness of this book took my by surprise in such a fantastic way! 20/10 ⭐️

This literally got me out of a weeks long slump. After posting an Am I the Asshole post on Reddit about his curse where all his ex girlfriends immediately find their soulmate, Emma a travel nurse with the same curse, contacts Justin to try and break their curse by dating and breaking up. Complicated family lives, trauma, and drama all come together to make one of the best books ive read all year. I laughed, I cried, and I felt seen. This is realistic in all the best ways and I literally can't recommend reading it enough!

This started quickly for me and slowed down quite a bit in the middle. The storyline is very cute, but some of the side stories added a bit too much fluff for me. Still a very fun summer read.

It all started with an Am I the Asshole post on Reddit, not how you think a super romantic, heartfelt, totally ruin you from the inside out romcom is going to begin, but here we are. Abby literally threw every hot thing that a guy could do on this MMC and it made it impossible not to love him. Tall hot guy, great body, takes care of his younger siblings, has a dog, cooks, cleans and will plan elaborate dates specifically tailored for the girl’s wants. Like of course they fall in love!! I also really enjoyed all of the cameo appearances from all of her other books. It was cool to see how the whole group is connected.

I really liked this story. It’s an equal mix of rom-com & family drama. Most of the characters were likeable with some flaws. I like when books incorprate relationships outside of the romantic relationship.

Equal mix of realism and unlikely coincidences. There was only one part near the very end where it felt like “that wouldn’t happen.” Also prepare yourself for cameos & name drops of ALL her previous characters.

I love that the author is interested in mental health but the therapy speak is everywhere in this book. Again at the end this element gets much heavier.

Cw: if neglect or abandonment are hard for you to read there is a lot in this book with moderate description. One character has serious mental illness resulting in very impulsive behavior & harmful actions.

Fantastic story, especially if you've followed the crew of characters from Part of Your World. At times this book was triggering... So beware to those with PTSD, narcissistic parents, and/or difficult childhoods. This story made me crack up laughing AND cry hard and I am reminded again why Abby Jimenez is one of my favorite authors!
