Nu îmi stârnește deloc interesul pentru că nu am vreo pasiune comună cu autorul și nici nu împărtășesc spiritul lui nonconformist. 

Povestea e extrem de împrăștiată, nu are vreo direcție, structură anume, iar asta nu mă ajută deloc să fiu mai interesată de lectură.

I must say I found the stories from Sacks' younger years quite astounding. The latter half though is profound, heartwarming and sad at times. In a different lifetime Sacks would probably have been a novelist.

It took me a while to get into it, but very good as usual. Oliver Sacks has always held a special place in my heart.

I found parts of his life more interesting than others. For example he writes extensively of his bike trips and lifting weihts which did not interest me. However, I enjoyed the later parts of the book where he lives in New York City
