I had a hard time getting into this, but I'm glad I stuck with it and I really liked the ending!

Amazing book! I read it in a day; it was completely impossible to put down.
In some respects it reminded me of the Time Travellers Wife, because of the importance dates had at the start, but it was so much better than that. Enchanting, engrossing, magical!

Meh. Sure the writing was good, but this wasn’t the story I wanted and thought I’d be getting. Whoever blurbed this book for the author should be fired.

If you’re looking for a fast paced magic competition with a heavy side of romance - don’t waste your time.

This book is neither a fierce competition nor luxuriously romantic. It’s rather quite slow (spanning 30 years), and I’d hardly call this romantic. The two magicians only have a handful of scenes together for the majority of the book.

False advertising if you ask me.

Big fan of this book. This story has such the heart and spirit of the dreams and aspirations we tell to our children, yet I wouldn't call this book young adult. Instead it gives the more mature readers a tale about mystique, wonder, romance, tragedy. Truly the whole gambit. It's one of the few books I've read that manages to pull off 'slice of life' so strongly. I could've read much more of this book if the Author decided to make it longer, but the story we received was well polished and a great read.
