If you want to improve your dialogue, summary voice transitions, character introductions, etc., choose one focus and read consciously, even taking notes on the way the author handles it. Do you like how they've done it? Could you use a similar technique? 

Do some research and ask for recommendations for books that include plenty of the thing you're looking for.
