I am having so much fun reading for the first challenge that I have decided to add a second challenge. Please join in if you want to - I would love more recommendations :)

For this challenge, an author will be considered Irish if:
1. They were born in Ireland
and/or
2. They have lived a large proportion of their life in Ireland.
and/or
3. They identify as Irish.

Ireland will be the whole Island of Ireland and so will include the countries politically named Ireland (Rep of) and Northern Ireland.

The book does not need to be set in Ireland unless it says so in the prompt! There are more prompts set in Ireland in this challenge than in the previous challenge (Read More Irish Authors). So pick the challenge that suits you best!

Challenge prompts

1. Dublin's Fair City as the song goes. Any book set in Dublin, the capital city of Ireland. A book where Dublin is a central character / theme/ Topic.

2. When the Belfast child sings again. A book set in the Capital of Northen Ireland. A book where Belfast is a central character / theme/ Topic.

3. They say it is the True Capital? A book set in/mentioning Cork city (the second largest city in Ireland).

4. Enough now with all the cities. A book set in a rural Ireland or an isolated place in Ireland.

5. I have been told on occassion that I do not typically behave or speak like an Irish person. So let's pick a book where someone doesn't behave or otherwise conform as expected by others.

6. You should write what you know. Sometimes Irish authors (like all authors) want to write about somewhere or someone else. So a book set in a time and/or place, featuring characters that an author would not have known without research and/or imagination.

7. Ireland is an Island. So a book featuring the Sea, the coast line, Islands etc.

8. This book is set to end on St Patrick's Day - a christian date. Before Christianity there was (an still is to a small extent) paganism in Ireland. So a book that includes some pagan element or theme (see hint for help).

9. Mostly due to our low corporate taxes, Ireland is the European head office of the many multinational tech compnanies. Eg. Apple, Microsoft, Google etc. So a book that is very very high tech (I am thinking Sci Fi here) or very very low tech (I am thining no electricty or running water).

10. When I lived in Australia I was told there was no crime in Ireland? A book/novel that shows that is not true. So a book that involces a crime set in Ireland.
